SEK Dev Connect

SEK Dev Connect is way to meet other developers and learn exciting new development topics in southeast Kansas. These once-per-month lunch gatherings will be held at the Foundry at Block 22 in Pittsburg.

Each month we will have a speaker present a conference style talk to encourage professional development and learning. There will also be opportunities soon for anyone to submit their own ideas for talks and present a session at SEK Dev Connect.

Lunch will be provided at each gathering, courtesy of local sponsors! Details for upcoming sessions below.

Approachable Unit Testing
Unit testing is a contentious and difficult topic. It's particularly hard to get started writing tests - what about all that extra time and cost that writing all that test code involves? Will tests be a maintenance headache later? Do they even help code quality? In this talk, we'll address those items, and will examine approaches for getting started with unit tests - particularly from the standpoint of existing code. We'll also look at some handy tools that help make testing easier. By the end of the talk, you'll see how unit testing can actually make your development faster!

Want to submit your own talk for SEK Dev Connect? Feel free to send it to us by emailing it here.
